About DJ Adam Madd PDF

100_3945.jpgAdam Madd (Adam Spencer) is widely known and respected for his versatility and extraordinary explosive talent behind the decks. His diverse mix of the finest and latest funky, tech, prog, electro, and deep house plus some progressive breaks, blended with the funkiest grooves and beats layered seamlessly together, plus the ability to pack a dancefloor, gained him the respect from a vast number of his peers. This respect also earned him the title of No.#1 House DJ in Newcastle in 2004 and No#2 DJ in Newcastle 2004 (second only to DJ Skooby, who is NSW DMC Runner-up for 2004), and No#1 Nightclub DJ in Newcastle in 2001. And with his move to Queensland in 2007, he was quickly picked up by one of the premier entertainment bodies on the Gold Coast, GCVibez, and played regularly in their events, allowing him to unleash his unprecedented skills and talent, propelling their events to the next level. Now in Brisbane, he is now a regular at Delicious, which is held every month at Chalk Hotel, and manages to regularly draw and hold a solid crowd each and every time he plays. He has also recently been selected by inthemix.com.au to play at their events and members meetups.

A talented and experienced producer, he has had many popular club tracks and remixes, locally and nationally (although most being illicit and white-label remixes, but still gaining club-play). His first large-scale popular original production, "Feel My Body" was released independently in 2000, and gained vast airplay nationally in the clubs and on radio, and charted as high as Number #2 on the national online house charts, number #27 on the national dance charts, and number #14 on Jimmy Z's Dance Charts. He has since produced numerous remixes and original productions, all of which have been very popular in the nightclub scene on a local and national level.

2005072123535801.jpgAs a club DJ, he has had many years experience in playing to the crowd, often having them "eating out of the palm of his hand". He quite often takes his listeners on a journey with his music, expressing and bringing out positive and energetic emotions and feelings in his listeners through his mixing skills, track selection, and musical flow. He firmly believes that that playing house music isn't just all about how much a DJ can entertain a crowd behind the decks, but making a listener feel certain pleasing emotions, relive positive memories, and be taken on a journey, all through song selection, and this can be noticed in his mixes and song selections. His perfectionist attitude towards his DJing shows in how smooth every mix is, and his uncanny ability to read just about any crowd quickly and accurately allows him to adjust his sets on the fly to cater for the crowd, ensuring the crowd are on the dancefloor for the duration of his set.

During his DJ career, he has often been called upon to launch various venues, and also to smoothly alter the perception of a venue with a subtle but effective gradual change in music genre. One well known example of this was his regular club night, Harmony, which ran for some time on the Central Coast (NSW), where he successfully changed the venue from an Urban venue to a House venue. After the event finished up, the regular mixes and productions continued, and now his regular Harmony mixes are rapidly gaining in popularity Australia-wide.

Adam's very first event was a local Newcastle event called Vitalbeats, at which he demonstrated his unparalleled ability to work the dancefloor. Upon entering the area he was scheduled to play in, he was greeted to an extremely small number of patrons (less than 10), with only two of them dancing. Within 20 mins of starting his set, the dancefloor was completely full, holding several hundred people. However, his largest gig was at a club in Newcastle known as the Hotel Metro, where on one particular friday night, he played a four hour set to in excess of 1600 people.

100_3916.jpgNowadays, as true to his heart as his living arrangements will allow, Adam resides in Fortitude Valley in Brisbane, and is gaining the respect of his peers thanks to help from inthemix.com.au, GCVibez, and various local promoters and venue managers in Brisbane. His sets at these venues and events are allowing him to prove his worth in the industry and demonstrating his exceptional love for the music.
